Thank you for the honest feedback!!

(1 edit)

Thanks a lot for the feedback!!

Even the team that developed the game couldn't beat the boss on the first run :) (I say it for myself!!)

Thanks for the great feedback! It means a lot to us, we put a lot of effort to make this game happen, and seeing such good feedback is rewarding for sure!

Thank you for playing Nick!! I'm glad you commented on the music too! :D

Great great game!! the level design is very clever, it makes you think and use the mechanics to complete each level, the hovering mechanic is awesome! This is a very good submission and I really had fun playing this game, the character and the music theme matches the atmosphere greatly.

This game Music go into the same way that I go making video games music, so I enjoyed it I must say! The graphics has their own identity and I found them very original! I really enjoyed the game, the controls felt a little slower than usual, but I understand it's not the final build! Good job!!

That narrator voice gave me the chills!! I find the voice very original! Controls are responsive, the move list is insane for a game that was done in 10 days, very good job! The sound's overall experience is great, the fx, music and voice!

The only thing I would point here, and please don't think I didn't like the game, is the 'Era Feel' aspect, I don't see it running on a nes/gameboy, but on a more evolved platform.

Thanks for sending out this game, put it on Fighting Game Jam and it will crush!!

The era look and feel is great, really looks and sounds like an old Nes RPG game, maybe a good idea is to tell the player the 'houses' are supposed to heal before making him die to discover that. You could put this hint on a dialog, in the prologue.

Anyways, nice submission, you nailed the NES feeling!

Just played the complete game, very fun, the graphics are perfect for the game boy era!

I loved how the gravity changes if you press X, it adds a different taste to the game, really enjoyed it

The walking controls seems a little slippery, not a big problem as player is on space, I think it's part of the mechanics.

The music is pitched a little too high, that makes playing it at a louder volume sometimes irritating, but not a very bad problem in my opinion.

I really loved it, fun to play!

Good job about the 3d PS1 graphics, the game atmosphere makes you feel tense. The controls are okay for a first person game, I couldn't understand the objective here, I think if you add more to the story this can be a great game.

I just don't feel it participating on this jam, maybe for a FPS or Horror Jam.

When will Chico 2 be released? I can't wait for the sequence!

I love the feel and I really felt playing a game boy title, and I see you planned to make sure the puzzles would cover the mechanics you wanted the user to experience. And with that game I just learned about Chiptone website, it will help me on the next Jams!

Great game!

Hey Looking Prism Team, I just tried this game, sorry to ask, but, was it submited to the correct Game Jam? I feel it doesn't comply with the Retrograde expectations.

I think a game boy/nes wouldn't run a game like this. As an FPS, I found the controls very confusing, the A and D buttons make you look right and left, you don't have the option to strafe, and the mouse is locked up on Y axis, making it have the same effect as A and D.

Another aspect: I can't understand what this game is for, I couldn't understand the objectives or what I'm doing. I'll not comment about audio and music because there's pratically nothing to listen here.

I think this is a good start for an FPS game, and I hope you continue to work hard on this proejct and present it on a Jam that's expecting it.

I enjoyed playing this game, the Cover Art Work would definitely make me buy this game when I had a NES!!

The controls for walking seems smooth, I could only observe a double jump issue, specially when you're passing through platforms pressing Forward and then trying to double jump at the same time.

I feel the music is some sort of loop, just being repeated, when I do OST's, I always loop, but larger sections of my own music , I always tend to start/finish with Drumbeats so that makes the loop easier to do, also, to make it feel more vintage, I get a square wave generator for each song 'voice' (each channel) and customize it until it looks appropriate for each section (Drums, Harmony, Bass and Lead). Another thing I like to do is to keep adding voices on the song, until all are playing together, and then finish with just the drum beats.

Another thing I would like to flag is that the character damage is not evident, when you take damage, the heart counter goes down, but, the character doesn't get 'red' or even blink, but that's just a minor detail and you can fix it quickly after the voting period.
Anyways, these are just minor adjustments, I see a good game here!!!!
